Magical collage The gallery Fashion Collage Fashion collaging is a way to express ourselves and it can be used as a therapeutic, healing, tool. They are inspiring, and they inspire the individual. The fashion collage types I am currently creating are a little bit abstract, meaning, you may not think it is about fashion. They represent fashion aesthetics. The fashion collages I am making are more of whats the inspiration behind a fashion collection would be, too. The theme is Magical. We need more magical-themed fashion collections. ​ ​ Fashion collage-making as a part of fashion journaling: ​ I started making fashion collages when I was 15. I would cut out clippings from fashion magazines, and I would have different themes for the boards based on the fashion magazine clipping I found and liked. This is one form of fashion collage and the most popular fashion collage type to make. ​ For every fashion professional, and for those who make fashion a serious hobby-- fashion collage-making is an important tool. They promote new fashion ideas. As a healing tool, the process of making collages is a healthy activity. It is a creative tool. It supports people’s ideas and creates new ideas for the maker and others. ​ The collage-making process is therapeutic because they help us clarify who we are, by the types of collages we create. They also express how we feel, and what our interests are. ​ ​ ​ Fashion collages include: ​ Moodboards > photos, images, color swatches, clippings, sketches, text, and graphic design. These design elements create the overall theme of the collage. Moodboards support people both professionally, and personally. ​ Presentation boards > A fashion collage can also be designed and created more technically. This is for the purposes of using collage professionally as a way to sell something or inspire people. For example, trend forecasters and fashion designers use fashion collages as presentation boards. Why make a fashion collage? ​ They are easy and fun to make They support soul/spirit retrieval when one is feeling ‘lost’ or emotionally negative They support confidence and self-esteem, we often can forget who we are, and when we make fashion collages we visually see part of ourselves indirectly, and this makes us feel better about ourselves.
