Intelligent Efficient Comfortable Symbiotic High performance Several of the design trends listed below come from the following fashion markets: contemporary fashion, sportswear, streetwear, and loungewear. These ergonomic design details, like soothing pastel-colored textiles, and comfortable seamless apparel are like healing beauty tools for our wardrobe. When we add these ergonomic apparel items into our wardrobe or wear the ergonomic apparel that is already in our wardrobe, we feel renewed. Fashion is a part of the new wellness trend. The wellness trend involves clothes that create growth, change, and wisdom in one’s life. Dressing in ergonomic trends is a part of life’s positive rituals. We get good vibes and positive energy when we wear fashion and design details that are ergonomic. Check out these fashion trends that are a part of the fashion industry currently. I have curated a collection of items listed below that I love. They are all creative in-vogue pieces. WOMEN’S Soft pastel tie-dye top by Nili Lotan -- The tie-dye Ciara Top Photo: Nili Lotan This soft pastel tie-dye top by Nili Lotan is a charming and comfortable apparel item. Pastel tie-dye is very modern in appearance. It is soft and soothing to look at. How is it ergonomic? It helps with mental anxiety and stress, due to its color hues and the texture of the pastel tie-dye print. Zip front denim pullover jacket by Boohoo Photo source: Boohoo This cute zip-front denim pullover jacket by Boohoo is fab. It is ergonomic because the designer(s) chose to design it out of mid-weight denim, making it easy for the body to move in the jacket. Many heavyweight denim apparel items can restrict the body. Choosing a midweight denim fabric jacket design may allow more body movement. It is an innovative fabric. In addition to the Boohoo jacket’s fabric, the zip-front pullover is a great look and a trending style. If a design is made well, the overall look is more aesthetically pleasing, and this helps people’s mood. Carolina Belle pink modern fit blazer jacket Photo source: Carolina Belle This dreamy Carolina Belle pink modern-fit blazer is designed with seamless technology. It is made with a great jersey-knit stretch fabric. Even the buttons are covered in soft fabric. All the raw edges are on the outside of the garment. Seams can often cause friction against the skin. Many seamlines are good-- especially if they work as acupressure technology applying pressure on specific parts of the body. However, seamless garments are a luxury, and it is a luxury item everyone should be a part of. Nike Sportswear essential women’s short-sleeve black dress Photo source: Nike The Nike sportswear essential women’s short-sleeve black dress is sleek and sporty. You can pair this elevated piece with anything and it will create multiple different styles. T-shirt dresses are a great staple piece for a wardrobe. Whether fitted or unfitted, tee-shirt dresses are ergonomic because they are lightweight, and move easily with the body. I like this Nike dress because it is shaped, however, I like shapeless t-shirt dresses also. MEN'S Contrast trim tee by Shein Photo Source: Shein The contrast trim tee by Shein is a really fresh and modern must-have. Pastel colors are ergonomic because the colors are soothing and therapeutic. I love pastel fabrics for men. It is a long-lasting trend for menswear: pastel-colored fabrics. Additionally, the garment’s dark navy-colored stripes and dark-navy-colored neckband make this piece dressy. It is fun to have pastel with dark accent colors within a garment. Terry polo in navy batik by Todd Snyder Photo Source: Terry Snyder This terry-cloth polo shirt in navy batik was cleverly designed by Todd Snyder. It is really cute. Anything terry cloth-made, especially when it is a polo, is very trendy. Terry cotton fabric is ergonomic because it has similar properties to a towel. Towel fabric absorbs sweat easily while keeping the body dry. It also has a cushion-like feel, making it a good fabric for extra support. Denim hoodie by Bershka Photo source: Bershka I found this fashion-forward denim hoodie by Bershka for men, because I wanted to show a few pieces where both men and women can wear them. The zip-front midweight denim hoodie jack is a trendy and cool look. I love the front center pocket in the front and the elastic-drawstring hood. The color is light and refreshing, and it is ergonomic with its dropped shoulders and midweight denim fabric. Men's party block anorak by Reason Brand Photo source: Reason brand The urban-style men's party block anorak by Reason Brand is a fun look. Its rich print is ergonomic because it supports emotional health. How? The print is like a piece of artwork, and art is visually therapeutic. The jacket also includes pastel and dark accent colors in the print, and it is a pullover. A list of the ergonomic properties on the apparel items above Here is a breakdown of all of the transformative ergonomic design and apparel items: Women’s Pastel tie-dye clothing Midweight denim pullover jacket Seamless blazers Tee shirt dresses Men’s Pastel-colored clothing with dark accent colors Terry cloth polos Midweight denim pullovers Artistic pastel/dark color prints Would you like to track your own ergonomic trends and other people's trends? • Creative Ways to Make Our Fashion Healthy

Creative ways to make our fashions healthy In this new blog post, I'm going to speak about my work on healthy fashion, in general, and how HEALTHY FASHION pertains to all of the fashion projects that I do. I am also going to talk about creative ways to make our fashion healthy. I consider myself a fashion psychologist and a fashion intuitive. A lot of my work is very philosophical and psychological. My fashion work is really made for those who are serious fashion enthusiasts or fashion professionals. It is because I really go deep with the type of fashion knowledge and fashion wisdom involved. Fashion and the emotional body Fashions can support our thoughts, feelings, ideas, emotions in our own creative expression. Our health and our fashions will be enhanced, and it will be fun and easy to make our fashions healthy. Fashion is one of the industries where we use themes on an important emotion: happiness. Oftentimes we don't realize it but a lot of our fashion garments and styled outfits play a large role in our emotional health and wellbeing, and our clothing supports how we feel throughout the day. Also, seeing other people's fashions and outfits gives us feelings of happiness as well. This is one reason why fashion is a healing powerful force and a way of health. The concepts of emotional health and fashion are very important to my work HEALTHY FASHION. When we go through our day wearing our outfits, we get emotional from them. Sometimes the emotions can become too strong. It is always good to find that balance. Balanced fashion gives us just the right amount of emotions and feelings and expressions that make us feel good, but are not too much, or not too little. The new fashion book There are plenty of fashion businesses out there that try to create new fashion concepts, and I am one of them. Fashion concepts that I speak about are typically fashion for the mind, body, and spirit. There are so many elements involved in making our wardrobes healthy as well as making the industry healthy as well. The fashion book that I recently wrote, just to let you know, has several topics, many topics that delve into the details of each fashion concept. There are definitely thousands of fashion concepts out there that we can utilize to make our wardrobe better and healthier and make the fashion industry and the environment healthier and better. In my book, I share with you hundreds of things we can do to use fashion to support our health. Sometimes it's difficult to figure out what is healthy to wear and what isn't. In my new book, I have a large breakdown that includes ways that contribute to making our wardrobe easy, simple, and healthy. The nice thing about healthy fashion is that there are so many concepts and theories involved in making a fashion garment healthy, we can pick and choose the ones that we like. My business HEALTHY FASHION CAMPAIGN and my readers, fans, and followers Do you have any questions about healthy fashion that I haven't covered? Comment below or email me a question about healthy fashion and I will reply and add the question into a future blog post as part of the blog content. Part of an understanding of where I am coming from in terms of healthy fashion, part of it is about identifying with my readers. So I am happy to hear your feedback. I am open and able to identify with who would be interested in my fashion work. It started when I created a fashion brand called Alternative Fashion. I was selling my healthy fashions. I handmade all of them, and it was a small business. Having people dress and wear my clothing gave me the chance to really understand who my customer really is and what fashion people would be interested in HEALTHY FASHION. The people who are interested in my work are “alternatives.” There are many ways to define what alternative means. But a few ways of being an alternative is to be different, to be unusual, and to be advanced spiritually. My readers understand and want to understand new concepts to advance themselves and all of society. My work definitely caters to those who are interested in the future of fashion, and they're also simply interested in cool, fun, trendy, knowledge, and wisdom. My campaign is very large, so my customer profile is very vast. This is about a movement coming together. About identifying universal fashion bringing all the world together in union, in relation to fashion. New Age, Ascension, and the Spirituality in HEALTHY FASHION CAMPAIGN If you love fashion, you will love my work. Yes, there are also very strong concepts in regards to the New age and the spiritual world but not everybody will be interested in it. That's not a problem because there are so many other concepts that I address and talk about. If you've been wondering how you can make fashion more healthy in your life and career, you've come to the right place. All of the writing and the work I do is created so that I can share it with the public and world, my readers can be inspired and also share that knowledge as well. HEALTHY FASHION is definitely a platform of education and most of the blog posts listed are educational but also they are made to be fun. Fashion is definitely fun and I want to emphasize that within all the work that I do. For example, I created several small, mini projects with my fashion illustrations, my trend boards, and my collages that are all fun and very supportive to fashion and trend forecasting and for fashion industry news. A lot of my upcoming fashion book is about alternative health and metaphysics. There's a large trend happening on Earth and it is the spiritual Ascension. It is for non-religious and religious people. Everybody's really a part of it. There's no small niche group of people that are interested in it. However, if you love metaphysics, you will definitely find some interesting information that I will share with you on my blogs and in my book, which is more science-based. So, why do I do what I do? So why do I do what I do? I've come a long way into realizing that I love researching fashion and created other fashion blogs in the past. I do this work because I have a strong passion for fashion. I've been researching it for quite some time, and I have loved working in the field of fashion since I was 15 years old. I just love fashion in general. I do like the most intelligent parts of fashion. Fashion is a very intelligent topic and field of industry. So I choose fashion psychology, fashion theory, fashion philosophy, fashion sociology, and many other intellectual fashion topics. What you will find on this site are tools and resources, services, products, and new current fashion projects that are in-trend and forecast-driven. I showcase fashions that describe what healthy fashion is. I promote fashion that does not just contain one element that makes it healthy, but I pick fashion to promote that contains several elements that create a healthy fashion look. This is definitely a place for artists and creators who like to create and who are artistic. I hope for you to find a lot of inspiration in the blog posts and the zine content and the other parts of the website that I provide and share with you. I have shared with you some information about what I do and what I'm about. Overall, HFC is definitely medical-influenced and medical-inspired. It is about healing the body and healing the mind with fashion design and apparel in creative ways. I support everybody that wants a healthier wardrobe and fashion professionals that want to learn more about healthy fashion for their healthy fashion business. You do not need to have a fashion career. You just need to have a passion for fashion. Want to read more articles? Check them out here: HIGHLIGHTS

  • About My New Book- HEALTHY FASHION: THE DEEPER TRUTHS

Book Launch: HEALTHY FASHION: THE DEEPER TRUTHS If you are new to the ‘fashion for health’ concept, my book is for you. It is a pretty new concept, so I have created a guidebook with a lot of interesting fashion for health topics. I talk about the many details of what fashion design/apparel for health really is. I also talk about sustainable fashion: fashion for the environment, and fashion and wellness trends. My new book HEALTHY FASHION: THE DEEPER TRUTHS, was a large writing project that took years to create. I spent a lot of my time researching and thinking about fashion. I wrote for a couple of years of time and added my new fashion experiences to the book during this time period as well. I love being a fashion writer. It is fun. HEALTHY FASHION is an inspiring fashion story-- not a story about me personally, but a non-fiction fashion story on how fashion is advancing. When did I write the book? I started working as a fashion entrepreneur in 2015. In May 2016, I answered a question in an interview I had by The Heroine’s Journey. I said in the interview I wanted to write a fashion book. I didn't even remember I wanted to write a book that far back. In 2017/18, I finally started writing my book when I was the kitchen manager/cook for a monastery in West Virginia. The lead monk is an author of many spiritual meditation books. So, this made me remember I wanted to write a fashion book, but I had completely forgotten about it. I was in solitude at the monastery, to a degree, so it was the perfect time to start writing. I started outlining the book in a notebook and picking out topics to write about. Eventually, I had left the monastery and stopped writing again for a while, but then I picked it back up when I moved to Mount Shasta, CA. The mountain there, Mount Shasta, is a large energy vortex. Everyone should visit, and you will notice the energy is different there. Tourists travel from all over the world to visit Mount Shasta. A lot of interesting things occurred over the course of those few years as I would write the book. The book was inspired by Mount Shasta. A lot of New Age activity occurs on Mount Shasta. My traditional publishing contract I received a traditional contract for HEALTHY FASHION: THE DEEPER TRUTHS. I had a very good response to my book, and I also was offered multiple contract agreements. I went with the most fitting publisher for me which is John Hunt Publishing. I am happy with my traditional contract with John Hunt Publishing. It’s every writer’s dream to receive a traditional contract. JHP is a very innovative and modern publishing company. The non-fiction fashion book is going to be under their mind, body, spirit imprint Ayni Books. How can I purchase the book? The book is available now for pre-order. It is going to be available in print as a new release around the holiday season-- Dec. 1, 2021. It is a good gift idea. If you want to read a sample of the material you can visit the Amazon site, and click on the book image, it will give you a preview of the book. As part of the self-care series and the self-care and wellness trend that is happening here on planet Earth, I've decided to create this printable in order to support everyone's well-being. Build your fashion /beauty/wellness routine 2. Support your fashion expertise both personally + professionally 3. Start your new beauty routines with the routine checklist pages: the activities page is created to jot down your beauty tools, beauty techniques, for your spa/beauty routines. 3. Craft and curate your fashion routines/activities 4. Support your fashion influencer role and create fashion inspiration I have an interest in printables, and a passion to design and create fashion printables. I have a large to-do list in a large long list of my to-do tasks, but they are all organized in a way that helps me, and these are made with a printable template. That was one thing that inspired me to start creating my own fashion printables. About The Mini Fashion Planner This in-vogue mini-fashion planner is your go-to fashion planner to plan your fashion + beauty + wellness routines. File type: PDF 12 pg digital download Fashion to-do list page My favorite fashion app + digital programs page Favorite activities page Fashion theme writing prompt pages Fashion notes/checklist pages When using the Mini Fashion Planner, you can jot down your important fashion notes and be able to organize them in a manner that helps you. This is the type of printable where you can save it, remake it, and reprint it. The printable can be printed multiple times and as many times as you like. It can also be used for a sketch project. Fashion journaling your fashion project sketches/ideas with my fashion printable will be a good start for when you want to use your fashion ideas and your content and save them to use with other new planners and projects. There is a large trend for printables. If you go visit the online Etsy stores, you'll find there are thousands of different types of Etsy printables in every type of industry. There's a reason why people like printables, and partly it is because it's a way to reflect on our thoughts and our minds that are always constantly moving. When we take the time to reflect using the printable, we take the time to be able to remember and utilize our ideas and thoughts for our important fashion projects and also use them as a journal. There are five parts to the 12 pg Mini Fashion Planner Fashion project to-do-list My favorite fashion apps + digital programs: to track my daily fashion news resources My favorite fashion activities page Writing fashion prompts for me Fashion notes/checklist pages Part 1 -- fashion project to-do-list In the first part/section of the Mini Fashion Planner, you'll be able to get done your to-do list and jot down things like fashion news that you found. The note and checklists will enable you to get your project finished and your new routines completed. Part 2 -- my favorite fashion apps + digital programs: to track my daily fashion news resources The next part of the printable is the fashion app and digital program section. I like to jot these down because even when I add and save them to files on my computer, it is always nice to write them down on paper. You can always refer back to the printable because it cannot get deleted. Everyone has lots of documents that are being stored, and they are storing a lot of the different fashion program resources for curating their fashion network. So in this way, this printable is a way to gather and store your new fashion programs and digital fashion apps that you want to remember to use. Things like fashion news sites, fashion chrome extensions, fashion trends reports, etc. Part 3 -- My favorite fashion activities page The next part of the printable is the activities page, which is the sheet on the right from the image shown above. The activity topics are broken into four sections. The activities page is a method for you to jot down your fashion routines and activities that you like. This is the section where you can jot down fashion activities that you do now or that you would like to practice in the future. Additionally, you can write down the activities and routines that you did in the past that you no longer do, but you would like to pick them back up and practice now or in the future. Printables and planners allow us to create Self-care Exclusive fashion ideas Fashion goals Positive rituals Journal + express our fashion Strengthens fashion intuition Part 4 -- Writing fashion prompts for me The next section of the Mini Fashion Planner is the fashion-themed writing prompt pages. I included questions/prompts. The fashion prompt questions-- these are all fashion questions for you to reflect on your own fashion beliefs and fashion ideas with fashion and lifestyle in general, I've developed these questions in order to help you learn about yourself and your fashion Journey. I've incorporated all of these topics because they all are a part of one another. The writing prompts combine health, fashion, and beauty. However, each topic is separated into the beauty section, the fashion section, and the wellness section. Part 5 -- Fashion notes/checklist pages The last part is the fashion notes/checklist pages. This is probably the best part because if you have an idea that pops up in your head you can quickly jot it down to the notes section. You don't need to organize it, it just needs to be there so you can remember it. The checklist can be your template to gather your fashion ideas, or fashion industry news. You can refer back to them when you put them in your other fashion archives-- a larger printable or file. The 12-sheet Mini Fashion Planner is practically designed in a clean, simple, minimal format. These printable sheet designs are modern and sleek. The printable is specially personalized for all fashion professionals, and for all fashion consumers. They are for everyone who enjoys fashion or who works in the field of fashion. I believe the best way to get more fashion ideas and fashion inspiration is through our own transformative thinking and our own inspirations that we've seen from the outside. Fashion prompts are supportive. They can be a way to help anyone elevate their wardrobe and elevate their company. These principles are specially designed to help your lifestyle and inspire your work and life. I have not created a printable with a rigorous schedule or a planner with a lot of restrictions. I believe the list format allows people to create their own routines on their own time in a flexible way. The fashion printable gives people another way to express themselves. They are designed to make you think and prompt you to immediately come up with your new fashion ideas. The Mini Fashion Planner is for you if: You need a printable that can help you organize your fashion routines, whether you are a fashion consumer and/or fashion business professional. You need a template to support your creative ideas by journaling You have a fashion profession and you really need to jot down these fashion strategies You want to document your fashion history-- your fashion/style that plays a role in the collective history of fashion Check out the video: How To Use The Fashion Planner Final Thoughts The mini fashion planner was made for you-- creative fashion pioneers. They help us to write down our own fashion tips or tips from others, and as it is a journey, they help us along the way. I created the Fashion Journal Tracker, and my recent Mini Fashion Planner because I believe printables are a great way to support and promote our fashion/health. • Big Trends This Spring/Summer 2021 From Nordstrom Rack To Know

About Nordstrom: A Brief History Nordstrom Rack is a chain department retail store. It was founded by Swedish-born John W. Nordstrom, headquartered in Washington, DC. Mr. Nordstrom was initially a miner. The first Nordstrom store he opened with his business partner, Wallin, was in 1901. It was named Wallin & Nordstrom. Wallin was the largest shoe store in the country, in 1960. The store then turned into a women’s apparel + shoe store in 1963, named Nordstrom’s Best. In 1966, they added men’s and children’s wear. In 1973, the first Nordstrom Rack was originally located in the clearance center of their downtown Seattle store. In 1968, the Nordstrom brothers gave their company to their adult children. They have 124 brick-and-mortar clearance stores, and 100 Nordstrom stores worldwide. I love Nordstrom, and their off-price division store: Nordstrom Rack. I love to get to know more of their in-house brands and get to know more of the external brands they carry. Nordstrom Rack is cheaper than their Nordstrom store-- because they stock overstocked items in their Nordstrom Rack store. They also produce cheaper items exclusively for their Rack store. Nordstrom Rack has more sales, deals, and a premium selection of discounted designer goods, and overstock items than their regular Nordstrom store. They are the “off-price” division of Nordstrom. They carry thousands of styles. It is always fun to feel I am getting a product for a great deal. You can find contemporary and designer fashion prices their up to 70% off. It is partially like an outlet store. The great thing about Nordstrom is they carry their in-house brands as well as other independent brands. I love to learn and find new brands when I shop there. This post is more about the big trends I have recently seen there for Spring/Summer 2021. So I talk about the specific fashion trends the store is currently carrying. I have selected seven womenswear garments and eight menswear garments, that show the trend. If you want to treat yourself, I will recommend taking a visit to Nordstrom Rack, to shop or window shop there. Nordstrom rack is fun, and their brands make me happy. "The design details of Nordstrom apparel are progressive, the silhouettes are innovative, the colors and materials are fresh." What I saw and love at Nordstrom Rack I went shopping at Nordstrom Rack at their La Jolla, California, location. I was inspired by many of their brand and designer apparel. So, I started to document several of their pieces from the store that I know are interesting trends for this season and the upcoming season, and I am going to share them with you. When I go to Nordstrom Rack, I visit for fashion inspiration. I also visit because many of the garment’s prices are reasonable. It always feels like a fashion celebration. They have a vibe that celebrates fashion with all of its glitter, glam, and confetti. I visit both to go shopping and to window shop. The creative fashion ideas that are connected with Nordstrom’s in-house brands-- their high fashion ready-to-wear and contemporary wear, make Nordstrom special. They have a great sense of fashion, and fashion taste. The clothing is very high fashion. It is amazing to see all the brilliant fashion being produced. I would like to see more plant-based fashion, however. I found so many must-have stylish pieces. I found garments that all of you fashion pioneers would like, too. The hand-feel of the cotton fabrics at their store made me realize that they many carry eco-luxe fabrics. All the garments listed below are practical, yet are elevated looks. In the future, I will be posting more different fashion style-genres of clothing and more by style type, but, in this post, I will be sharing a few of my favorite fashion style types that I like to post, which are: activewear, athleisure, minimalism, loungewear, etc. I love comfortable, trendy day-wear clothing. Additionally, the trends and garments listed below are ergonomic, trendy, healing, healthy, and mostly plant-based. A Shoppable Guide You can shop the garments listed below. I have linked all of the titled names of each piece. Each of these items are futuristic, I believe these brands are very in-season, and when you visit Nordstrom, you experience high-tech shopping. All the Nordstrom Rack garments I have listed below are made with cotton fabrics, except for the one polyester garment, the women’s windbreaker at the top of the list. My shoppable style guides are a part of creating healthy fashion brand awareness. It is good to know, that many brands that are 'mainstream' practice sustainability, yet they don’t label themselves a sustainable brand. There are a lot of good things most brands do to help the world. Nordstrom’s e-commerce store is great because they have a category filter where you can shop by the categories. One of them is the 'material' category. I mostly wear all cotton and linen fabrics for my base layers. So, to be able to filter out the other fabrics helps a lot. Also, it is great for plant-based designers and sustainable designers that need to do technical design research. For example, finding a specific cotton fabric type works well in a specific fashion silhouette. "Trends are the 'keys' to fashion in many ways." Current Trends From Nordstrom to Know The modern trends I have found are based on lifestyle cultures and subcultures worldwide. These trends are a part of the collective. The trends involve both men and women and luxurious design-element details. However, I have not showcased unisex pieces in this post. I believe the unisex trend is a part of male and female equality, and I do support it. *Note: The fashion products stocked in Nordstrom brick-and-mortar stores vary from store to store. They do not all not completely match the products on their e-commerce stores. The garments are both online and in-store, however, the product varies from store to store. WOMENSWEAR TRENDS: PASTEL TIE DYE WINDBREAKER Photo: Abound Abound Tie-Dye Windbreaker Abound is one of Nordstrom’s in-house brands. I love this urban-like pastel tie-dye windbreaker made with light-weight. The trend right now is soft pastel-colored windbreaker jackets. This Abound windbreaker jacket, its fabric appearance is very soothing and calming to look at. They are very comfortable to wear. The windbreaker garments are usually made from nylon and polyester, yet, the texture and weight of this windbreaker fabric are soft and light. The large trend with these windbreakers is the half-zip front closure windbreakers, these are the trendiest, and they are really cute. Fabric content: 100% nylon CROPPED MIDWEIGHT COTTON TEE Photo: Champion Heritage Crop T-Shirt Cropped tops are a big trend. The Champion crop tops are very popular, and one of my favorite cropped apparel brands. I own a Champion cropped sweatshirt, and it is very high-quality, the ultimate piece for my trendy wardrobe. Crop tops are a great layering piece if you don't want to show your body. Champion has a large product range of midweight fabric garments. I love them because they can add a little structure to an outfit. Fabric content: 100% cotton. PASTEL MOSS-COLOR Photo: Vero Moda Vero Moda Camen Dolman Crop Sweatshirt Pastel moss green is a great 'in-trend" color. I see pastel mossy green a lot, it is supreme. Green, in general-- and specific colors of green have become very popular this past year. Mossy green Sphagnum also named an iceberg green, or ashy green color was a selected color for Pantone's Spring/Summer 2021 colors of the year. This shade of green is a very natural + modern color, with a nice masculine/feminine balance. Vero Moda’s crew neck sweatshirt is pretty, chic, and minimal loungewear. The shirred cuff is a nice feminine detail. Dolman sleeves are very ergonomic because of the way it is designed, it won't squeeze the armpits. CROPPED CAMISOLE Photo: BP BP CAMISOLE BP is one of Nordstrom’s in-house brands. I have found a lot of BP fashion products that I love. They are a fresh brand. Cropped cami tops are in-trend, and they are very comfortable. They are a great layering piece, and they can also be worn as a bra. The cotton jersey knit gives the body support. I would consider camisole tops, especially cropped cami tops, a staple piece. A piece that modernizes the wardrobe. Cropped camis always come in a great selection of colors and necklines. Fabric content: 95% cotton 5% spendex PERFORMANCE LEGGING AS HIGH FASHION Photo: Puma Classic MCS Leggings I love leggings because they are the perfect streetwear bottom and they give you more ability to move around without restricting the body. The legging pant is a big trend, and also menswear “sweggings.” Men are wearing fitted sweatpants, joggers, and also leggings. I believe leggings are good for both men and women. Puma designs leggings with color blocking and cuts that are modern with decorative seam lines. I would say they are very designer-like activewear. Performance apparel is becoming a trend and is appearing as high fashion. Fabric content: 95% cotton 5% spandex BLACK DENIM SKINNY JEAN Photo: Blank NYC Blank NYC Superwomen Ripped Black Jeans Knee-ripped jeans are very stylish and look very attractive. Skinny jeans are comfortable to wear when they are "jegging." A jegging is a pair of jeans and a pair of leggings pant design combined. The knee rips make them look edgy. Skinny jeans are not, because they look so fresh and modern, on people. I love black jeans. Fabric content: 72% cotton, 26% polyester, 2% spandex HIGH FASHION PERFORMANCE LEGGING Photo: Adidas Adidas 3 Stripe Leggings This is another legging product that Nordstrom carries that I love. I believe black legs are chic-- like the "little black dress." They go with everything and they are flattering. Leggings are also supporting the health and wellness trend movement. Because leggings are often worn for exercise, it gives people that inspiration of movement, whether they are active or sitting. They express a healthy, active lifestyle. Fabric content: 93% cotton 3% elastane MENSWEAR TRENDS PASTEL BLUE SOFT TEE Photo: APC APC Sebastian Pullover Sweatshirt The APC crewneck sweatshirts are very fashionable. The crew neckline is a dress type of sweatshirt. When crew sweatshirts are styled with other specific fashion items, they can make a sweatshirt look dressy. This royal blue color elevates the look. Crew neck sweatshirts are an urban style must-have. Fabric content: 100% cotton PASTEL KEY LIME-COLORED APPAREL Photo: Nike Nike Oversized Sweatshirt This progressive oversized Nike sweatshirt is made in heavyweight french terry cotton. French terry is very ergonomic, it is soft on the skin, while it stimulates blood flow from its soft texture. This sweatshirt has a trendy, premium cut, and boxy fit. The color is key lime pastel. The lime green color is a trend for this season, and pastel colors like key lime are too. This sweatshirt definitely has a high fashion look. Fabric content: 100% cotton DESIGNER POLO Photo: Thome Browne Thom Browne Tricolour-print cotton-piqué polo shirt Thom Browne’s tricolor detail polo shirt is made from 100% cotton. I have seen a lot of red/white/blue color palettes, and they are currently trending. Also, this polo shirt is like the other polo shirt listed-- it is a high fashion polo. They are making polos look very high fashion- whether they are high or low priced. Also, polos have a comfortable silhouette, and they are made with movement-based fabrics that stretch when you move. Fabric content: 100% cotton MID-LENGTH JERSEY SHORT Photo: Daniel Buchler Daniel Buchler Pima Cotton Lounge Shorts The trend for men’s shorts is shorter than the average menswear shorts. I like men’s short shorts. I also like these mid-length jersey knot shorts for guys. Shorter shorts on men look fashionable. Mid-length shorts can also make any outfit look dressy. These mid-length jersey shorts are really cute. They come in great colors, and they are made with an eco-luxe Pima cotton fabric. Pima cotton is one of the softest types of cotton available. The greyish-white colored fabric is very modern-looking. I think this trend is going to be more and more popular. Fabric content: 100% Pima cotton CREW SWEATSHIRT: EXTRA SLIM FIT Photo: APC APC Andrew Organic Cotton Crewneck T-Shirt The APC crewneck sweatshirts are very fashionable. The crew neckline is a dress type of sweatshirt. When crew sweatshirts are styled with other specific fashion items, they can make a sweatshirt look dressy. This royal blue color elevates the look. Crew neck sweatshirts are an urban style must-have. Fabric content: 100% cotton LARGE STRIPES Photo: Volcom Volcom Yewbisu Stripe Tank Volcom does a really great job with their prints- they are always modern and urban-- The combination of large strips with light colors makes it a soothing garment. Large stripes and multi-varying stripes are in trend. I love this sleeveless Volcom tank top. A guy can wear this, and it will make him look fresh. Large stripes are a fashion formula to make one appear futuristic and modern. It is slightly nautical-- and nautical and sailor is a trend for this season. Fabric content: 100% cotton DESIGNER POLO Photo: ATM ATM Striped Jersey Polo The ATM (Anthony Thomas Melillo) polo shirt is made out of soft jersey knit cotton fabric. Polo tops for men can be a good silhouette to add more design details to the look and make them look very designer. High fashion polos are in trend. This ATM polo with the black stripes only on the top of the garment makes the designer look artistic and adds depth and interest to the polo shirt. Fabric content: 100% cotton DARK-GREY FITTED SWEATPANT Photo: Full Court Sport Full Court Sports Logo Cotton Joggers Sweatsuits are a big trend for menswear and womenswear apparel right now. This medium-to-dark grey is an ultra-contemporary color. I love sweatpants, but I do not see a lot of 100% plant-based sweatpants. They are made with 100% cotton. They also have slant front packets and an ergonomic waistband. A wearable staple piece and they are fitted, so this gives it a more formal look. Fabric content: 100% cotton Stay tuned for more trend reports on Nordstrom Rack in-house-brands and external brands. Want to read more articles? Check them out here: HIGHLIGHTS

I support advanced, modern fashion. Fashion contributes and gives a lot to this world. All of these events are helping to create and keep the fashion industry changing and evolving. Browse through this list of fashion events that are located all around the world. What if there are no events listed in my country? If you don't see any events listed in your country, it is because there are 194 countries in the world-- it is not because there aren't any fashion events. I am targeting events usually around the 4 “fashion capitals.” Many of you may not live directly where the events are located. However, many of these events are both in-person and virtual. I have listed the largest fashion events in the world, so many of them are where the fashion capitals are: Milan, London, NY, and Paris. If you visit fashion event business websites-- they all have virtual content, and many have virtual events. So, you do not need to be in the area to participate in their shows/events. These fashion event businesses also have resources available on their sites. Many of the fashion event businesses listed have smaller digital webinars, podcasts, and other events apart from their large annual event that you can check out. At the bottom of this digital PDF, you will also find another separate list of annual fashion events-- these are all events with TBA (to be announced) dates. Also, there are a few fashion event sites that have multiple events or post multiple, fashion events on their site that I listed below the TBA fashion event list. The Event List The HF Tools Fashion calendar is a resource for fashion people. By creating this fashion calendar, it is to share with you what the world has to offer in regards to the fashion industry, and it will help you keep up-to-date with current fashion events, be inspired, and support new fashion ideas. The list of events was created this APRIL 2021- all dates listed begin from April 2021. All dates listed are either in 2021 or 2022. So, the months January, February, and March are 2022 dates. The rest of the months are 2021 dates. This is not a ‘complete’ fashion event list - I will be adding more. I have researched all of them to make sure they are modern and they are most all annual or bi-annual events. Each fashion event is sorted by month and by date. All the events are listed by the name of their fashion event from A-Z. If there is no date next to the month, it is probably because of Coronavirus. Some events have been canceled or put on hold, but they will be producing events in the future. Some categories within the months are left blank because I will be adding more to each category and the categories with no events. If there is just a month without the day of the event it means they generally have events in that month and or around that month, but the date is not announced. If there is no date inside the month, it is a very popular event that is usually producing an event within that month every year. Manage and plan your fashion schedule with the Fashion Calendar There are so many fashion dates where I will not remember if they aren’t written down. This list includes those important dates that you don’t want to forget like: The Met Gala + Golden Globes The biannual fashion weeks of all 4 fashion capitals Innovative and futuristic conferences Legendary trade shows like COTERIE and MAGIC Many events are not labeling themselves sustainable -- but many of these events are all about sustainable fashion, and support sustainable fashion practices. Mainstream fashion is naturally practicing fashion sustainability and having sustainable fashion goals. Fill out the subscribe form at the bottom of the website, and you will receive an email with the download button to download the digital PDF. Want to read more articles? • Eco-Luxury Beauty Fabrics: Medicinal Fashion Fabric Infusions for Your Health

Eco-luxury beauty fabrics In this article, I share eco-luxury beauty fabrics, also called cosmetic fabrics. These fabrics are made to be medicinal and support your health. Medicinal-infused fabrics are fabrics infused with ingredients like aloe, neem, castor oil, essential oils, and so on. Medicinal infusions treat the body topically. I offer methods of creating a healthy wardrobe, one that protects, and in this article, I talk about fabrics that are medicinal and naturally protect the body. I share a little bit about medicinal beauty fabrics, all named cosmetic fabrics, and how they are a part of the future of fashion. I have written a new book: HEALTHY FASHION, and it talks about healthy “plant-tech” cosmetic fabrics in the book. The book will be available in FALL/WINTER 2021—so stay tuned. Pre-ordering is available. "I like to call 'healthy' fashion—'spa' fashion. I also call medicinal fabrics advanced, 'plant-tech' fashion." The coronavirus + fashion for protection The coronavirus has made us see the effects of fashion on human health and human disease more. This is because we are using fabric to cover our face and mouth daily. We can see that fashion fabrics protect us. The coronavirus has inspired all of us to be healthier, and protect ourselves against disease with fashion. A part of the new wellness trend and the coronavirus issue-- it has compelled the fashion industry to naturally produce their fabric collections with more holistic fashion cycles also. Fashion collections are not being produced like they used to. The fashion calendar is changing naturally, too. Many ready-to-wear fashion brands are producing fewer fashion collections per year. For example, both the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and BFC (British Fashion Council) asked fashion designers to no longer formally present their cruise collections. Additionally, many fashion shows are virtual now as well, with 3D digital modeling. The masks that we wear, and covering the mouth and face with fabrics has created thousands of brands to produce masks made in plant-based fabrics, with low-impact dyes and plant-based dyes. Brands are being very creative too, with regards to producing a healthy mask that protects against the coronavirus but also helps support the physical body, too. Cosmetic beauty fabrics A new modern fashion trend is wellness fashion. Part of the wellness fashion trend is the design and technological development of fabrics that are infused with medicinal ingredients. A modern wardrobe made with infused fashion fabrics is: nurturing positive magical + empowering In order to create more ‘zen’ in our lives, we need to wear fabrics that support the body. Look to all the spiritual gurus in India or the Buddhists in Asia-- they are all wearing cotton or linen. Cotton and plant-based fabrics are cosmetic fabrics. They are cosmetic fabrics because they are made from plants. Plants are healing, healthy, and support the body in various ways. Why wear medicinal-infused fabrics? They are therapeutic They support the energy body + emotional body (not just your physical body) They feel cozy, comfy, and are inspiring Infused fabrics will truly help us achieve more health Infused fashion fabrics are 100% natural, like herb, plant, and mineral-based ingredients. Medicinal, infused fabrics will: make you feel + look beautiful rejuvenate the skin refresh the body + mind revitalize the energy body with cosmetic fabrics "Fashion for health is in many ways an alternative medicine. Medicinal fabric infusions are a part of making fashion an alternative health remedy." Infused fabric benefits: naturally-sourced health ingredients herbal plants + herbal minerals anti-aging properties gentle on the skin skin-enhancing // softening blood circulation increase stress relieving Cosmetic fabrics for every genre Every special fashion brand, with all the different fashion genre styles, can produce or purchase medicinal fabrics. It will modernize all style genres to make you and your wardrobe: modern, fresh, and fun. The important part about healthy fashion is that it supports every fashion genre. Whether you like to dress: Minimal Classic Retro or Trendy Infused fabrics + the beauty industry The beauty and cosmetic industry started the trend of infusing fabrics. They will be a long-term trend. I love the beauty and spa industry products. The new crystal jade and rose quartz rollers, crystal-infused eye shadows, and crystal-infused essential oil rollers. Crystal-infused coconut and soy wax candles are being produced now too. We can be inspired and influenced by the spa industry and beauty industry, and use their products to inspire new cosmetic apparel products. Cosmetic companies, for example, are incorporating a lot of natural medicinal materials, like copper, seaweed, crystals, and sea salt into their products. The textile industry has started to incorporate these materials into apparel fabrics. The wellness trend is becoming more and more popular, with athleisure + activewear being the two biggest fashion markets in the fashion industry. We are motivated, excited, and inspired to wear comfortable clothing. Fashion consumers want therapeutic-based apparel products. Medicinal-infused beauty fabrics are a part of the future of fashion. We need the gift of medicinal-infused fabrics and fashion designs that can help our mind, body, and spirit. Beauty fabrics are eco-luxurious and can be a part of everyone's wardrobe. • NYFW Reviews: 11 FW '21 RTW Brand Collections (Part 2)

New York Fashion Week: 11 More fashion show reviews In part 1 I covered 11 RTW designers that presented their collection at NYFW. This week I am featuring 11 more RTW brands that presented their collection that I like. I have reviewed a total of 22 ready-to-wear designers. I am reviewing the top collections with some of my favorites looks from their collections. I will cover menswear + womenswear collections from several of the top fashion designers/brands from #NYFW '21. In part 2, it is the same as part 1: each designer has their individual, unique trends that are a part of their collections. I will be talking about a few of my favorite outfits from each collection that I am sure will be very trendy for FALL '21. I think all brands design a few new trends that they bring new to the industry. In this NYFW review, I will showcase a photo of one look from each designer brand. Each photo is one of my favorite looks from their collection. I have linked the brand's name that is the title above the photo in the article to their site. Also, you can visit NYFW.com to see each of their presentations. Signing up is free, but you have to sign up to see the collections on their site. Many of the shows are also on Youtube and on the brand's website, too. Each NYFW collection review includes: The RTW brand/designer introduction Their style/aesthetic Their FW '21 fashion show, film, presentation, etc. I review and describe several looks in their collections that will be a part of the fall '21 fashion trend season. The designer collections that I will be covering in part 2 + their Instagram account: @raisavanessa @ullajohnson @gabrielahearst @proenzaschouler @adeam @rosettagetty @maisie_wilen @carteryoungusa @sandyliang @mrsaturday @coach @sandyliang Raisa Vanessa Photo courtesy: Raisa Vanessa Raisa Vanessa Intro The designers are Raisa and Vanessa Sason. They have a lot of inspiring powerful statement pieces. Their designs make people look confident and empowered. They designed several beautiful, artistic, eclectic garments that are very trendy and very stylish. The brand states that "some of their key elements is, dimensional, maximalist designs." About their show/film/presentation The Raisa Vanessa fashion show was filmed in an architectural, and futuristic building: the Presidential Symphony Orchestra building. Their fashion film featured ambient techno music. In the film, the models walked in different locations in the building. It enhanced the film and collection, and it kept everything inspiring and creative. A few trendy looks + their description Many of the colors in their collection have rich hues of red, orange, gold, black, tan, and brown. Look 1 Their large sequined dress is a gorgeous dress in brown, made with large brown sequins. It is long-sleeved, belted, and it has shoulder pads. I love short dresses with long sleeves dresses. The extra-large brown sequins that were in the shape of a circle dangled off the entire dress. When the model was walking, the sequins were dangling and moving and reflecting off of the light, so, it is a real shimmery look. Look 2 The next look that I really enjoyed, and it is in the photo above, was this long- past-the-knee sweater. The sweater has pockets with gold hardware buttons that are decorative. The design is a monochrome look: knit pants with a knit sweater. It looks really stylish with the gloves and the large earrings. All the colors matched while with the entire outfit being blue--display the long sweater, the knit pants, and the sweater underneath. Ulla Johnson Photo courtesy: Ulla Johnson Ulla Johnson Intro Ulla Johnson is a NY-based ready-to-wear label with a following across Europe, Australia, and Asia. Style/aesthetic Johnson's brand style is romantic, feminine, vintage design, and modern, fresh design details. They have a very feminine and girly look. About their show/film/presentation The show was presented at David H. Koch Theatre. They had a live classical music performance by the Juilliard school. The Collection is really beautiful and feminine, with lots of pretty light colors and lots of prints. Many of the jackets had cocoon-like sleeves. They designed beautiful blouses and blouse-like dresses, with feminine billowy sleeves. the clothing and fashion designs are very graceful and elegant. There is happiness in the collection, the fashion show music, and their designs. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 I like their plaid jacket with the pink dress underneath. It is one particular poetic look that is really beautiful with the plaid coat and the dress underneath; the colors combined are beautiful together. The plaid fabric was made into a cream, dark brown, and a light khaki-brown color. Look 2 A nice look was their yellow/brown-colored acid wash dress paired with a long dangling necklace. This is a fun and strong look. Look 3 In the photo above is one of my favorite looks. I like this knitwear design and skirt paired with tall boots. It is a very beautiful and inspiring look. Johnson's design has elements of modernity, futurism, and classic styles. Gabriella Hearst Photo courtesy: Gabriella Hearst Gabriella Hearst Intro Gabriela Hearst is a women's and men's ready-to-wear and accessories brand. They are a sustainable company and their style is a timeless luxury. Hearst designs quality items that are modern and made to last. Additionally, Gabriela Hearst is also the designer and creative director for Chloe. Style/aesthetic The style is modern, classic with a nice balance of both soft/feminine and hard/masculine elements. About their show/film/presentation Their FW '21 collection and film are really beautiful. The models were filmed walking in a very large, empty industrial building. The floor was slightly wet in some parts, and the music had water-drop sounds. The music was light, with a little bit of synth-wave and ambient style. In the film: they captured the interior and exterior of the building well, and it enhanced the collection. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 Hearst designed a versatile, beautiful a-line trench coat that could be worn in the day or evening. It was paired with a knit sweater and skirt sweater set. The look also came with a beautiful camel-colored bag and camel-colored boots. Look 2 A design I really like is the white dress with black lace. This is a dynamic dress in a leather-blend fabric with intricate black lace detail in the center front of the dress. The lace is in a zig-zag shape. Look 3 One of my favorite looks was this beautiful black satin dress with a low neckline and billowy sleeves. It has a modern, urban, and feminine aesthetic. The fabric is satin-like, and the cut is very futuristic. I love the way it is styled, with a black leather clutch and white pants. Proenza Schouler Photo courtesy: Proenza Schouler Proenza Schouler Intro Proenza Schouler is a womenswear and accessories brand by founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. They are based in New York. They also have a sister label called WHITE LABEL, which carries basics like tees and jeans. Style/aesthetic Hernandez and McCollough's product is luxurious with a modern, classy aesthetic. They state that their designs are inspired by youth culture and contemporary art. Their designs and cuts are very future-forward. About their show/film/presentation Their FW '21 fashion show is really beautiful, when the models walked, the camera filmed very creative angles. The lighting was very soft, with fun, ambient techno music. They also got several close-up shots of the looks, where we are able to check out the details and craftsmanship of the looks. The lighting against the white wall was really nice, and they also filmed outdoors next to both nature and a beautiful building. A few trendy looks + their description They designed their collection with modern neutrals, and rich hues of orange, yellow, and green. The collection is very elegant and positive. The collection pieces looked very comfortable and functional to wear. Look 1 The collection features a 'rebellious' maroon pantsuit with large trousers and a printed turtleneck underneath. The look is very beautiful with their black bag with a gold chain handle. The bag accessory is like a piece of jewelry. Look 2 They designed a beautiful elevated dress with modern cutouts, cocoon-shaped sleeves, and a mock turtleneck. The lining of the skirt with a long slit was yellow in color. This made the skirt sophisticated, elegant, and slightly quirky. Look 3 In the photo above, this is one of my favorite Proenza Schouler FW '21 favorite looks because they were able to interpret long skirts as trendy and modern. The long skirt also was a little shorter than a typical long skirt, which made the look modern. I like the top that went with it, it is very futuristic with the cut. The armhole, the slit on the side, the extra fabric in the back-- the whole look has a modern aesthetic to it. Adeam Photo courtesy: Adeam Adeam Intro Adeam is a New York-based fashion line by creative director Hanoko Maeda. Style/aesthetic The design style is inspiring and empowering. Maeda's designs have a good balance of feminine and masculine. Maeda calls her style aesthetic ‘East meets West’. She creates her designs with Japanese techniques, and with modern silhouettes. She has a classic and preppy look to her collections. About their show/film/presentation The Adeam FW '21 show is really beautiful. It is filmed in a very brightly lit room with modern beams throughout the room. The film had lots of different angles of looks when the models walked-- so you could see the back, side, and front of the looks, which is nice. A few trendy looks + their description Maeda's designs are very stylish with their modern Japanese-style silhouettes and modern cuts. She designed a charming FW '21 collection with a color palette of green, gray, khaki, red, blue, and purple. Her collection is youthful and sophisticated. Look 1 One of the looks I really loved was the khaki hooded sweatshirt. She was able to make the urban sweatshirt look dressy by adding frilly cuffs and hems. She paired it with an over-the-knee shirtdress. It is a dress and a dress/shirt. She styled several dresses with pants that look poetic and stylish. This look also has the khaki flared pants. Look 2 I loved their dressy bomber jacket in burgundy with the blouse underneath. It was styled nicely. The slightly cropped trousers are really cute and look artistic and eclectic. She designed a really cute cuff on the bomber jacket, where the cuff flares out. Look 3 In the photo above is one of my favorite looks. I love the playful burgundy-colored cardigan and the polished burgundy pants. The pants have the perfect length and cut. I like how they are near the ankle. The pants are very flattering. The sweater is a little loose, with a shoulder detail of black frilly pieces that make it modern and feminine. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 I like their long cotton shirt dress made with striped cotton shirting fabric. It is loose and very elegant and delicate-looking. The striped print fabric gives a good masculine balance to the look. Look 2 One of Liang’s designs was a pantsuit, with extra wide-leg trousers and a classic tailored suit jacket. It was styled with a bra-like top. This is an ultimate trend look. Look 3 In the photo above, I really like the look and cut of this leather jacket. The length and silhouette are very modern and the shapes have a relaxed, luxurious look. I also love the way it is paired with a short mock turtleneck dress. It looks really edgy, modern, and fresh. Maisie Wilen Photo courtesy: Maisie Wilen Maisie Wilen Intro The designer and founder of Maisie Wilen is Maisie Schloss. Schloss made her first collection inspired by rhythmic gymnastics and robotics. She makes trendy, futuristic bodycon dresses and pantsuits in very bold, vibrant colors and energizing prints. Style/aesthetic Schloss’s product is trendy, futuristic, fun, and modern. About their show/film/presentation Schloss’s fashion film is magical. The walls were covered in a very beautiful pastel green/blue fabric. They filmed the models walking on a few inches of water. It looked magical and mermaid-like. The water was rippling as the models walked and it looked beautiful and spiritual. The music was an ambient, experimental song that was very calming and modern. A few trendy looks + their description The collection has lots of vibrant, energizing prints with pretty spandex, jersey-knit, and fitted silhouettes. Her designs are really fun and celebrate empowerment as they are strong looks. Look 1 I liked their fitted dress made in floral-printed fabric. The center front of the dress has an ombre blue/green and yellow color. The front of the dress has small images of a poodle, heart, brain, and Scorpio printed onto the fabric. It is really artistic and fun. Look 2 Schloss designed a charming velvet/velour jersey knit pant and ballet-style wrap shirt in pastel green. It is really elegant and cute. Look 3 In the photo above is one of my favorite looks. It is a casual business suit in a windbreaker-type fabric. It is sporty and clean-lined. I think this is a great idea for both business and casual wear. I love this look. The color-blocking, cut, and silhouette are great. Carter Young Photo courtesy: Carter Young Carter Young Intro Carter Young is a unisex clothing line founded by Carter Altman. Altman has a creative, abstract brand. The brand is designed and owned by Altman who is the creative and artistic director for his brand. Style/aesthetic The Carter Young product is modern and timeless. There is something spiritual about his collections. Their aesthetic is very cool. Young's designs using classical menswear details. About their show/film/presentation Their FW '21 film is really nice. It has a nostalgic feel. It is more about the designer talking about fashion and his life. The designer, Carter, talks in the film as he is being interviewed and questioned, and talks about New York City and his memories of NY when he was both a child and an adult. The film is in black and white. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 One look I like is a beautiful V-neck sweater that was purple-colored and made out of velour/velvet-type fabric. This looks-- a female model was modeling it, but it's unisex. The look has character and sophistication. Look 2 The next look is a dark-colored jacket with a tartan, vintage-style collared shirt. It looks very high fashion. I really like their greyish, silver-like colored pants and the urban sneakers within the look are stylish. Look 3 The look in the photo above is one of my favorite looks in his FW '21 collection. Altman's suit design is modeled by the designer himself. A high-collared black shirt with a blazer and dress pants is very trendy. I like the gray stripe on the side of the pants. This makes their design look modern and fresh. Sandy Liang Photo courtesy: Sandy Liang Sandy Liang Intro Sandy Liang is a NY-based fashion brand. Her collections are inspired by her Chinese roots and Chinese culture. Additionally, Sandy Liang created a capsule collection for Lane Crawford. I love her line of fresh and trendy designer fleeces on Liang's site. Style/aesthetic Liang's fashion is very modern, trendy, and inspiring. Her style aesthetic is cool, with many asymmetric silhouettes. She also has a futuristic aesthetic to her brand. About their show/film/presentation Their FW '21 collection was very cool, and the nature scenes: the winter snow, the woods, icicles that made it very refreshing. They were able to make it short, but it captures everything. The filmed several shows of the models posing in motion. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 I love the ballet dancer inspiration of Liang's collection. One look had a tutu-like skirt that was past the knee. They styled it with their sweater. The sweater has cute flowers, bows, and folk-like tulips. Look 2 One of Liang's looks is a light-blue, fitted sweatshirt with no hood. A white cotton peter pan-collared dress. This look is styled with their puff vest. The puff vest is so cute with light pink, pastel green an black colored fabrics. I love how the pastel green fabric has a marble-like and wood-like print. Look 3 In the photo above, I love this look from their FW '21 collection. It has a cute peter pan collar, in black and white gingham cotton fabric. I like how it is short and above the knee, and the cutout on the front top of the dress makes this look really cool and trendy. The knee socks make this cool feminine and cool. Mr. Saturday Photo courtesy: Mr. Saturday Mr. Saturday Intro Mr. Saturday is a men’s and women’s ready-to-wear brand founded by Joey Gollish. He designs modern and trendy designs-- both fashion and accessories, for men and women. Style/ aesthetic Gollish's design and style aesthetic look contemporary, urban and trendy. It is street and urban, the fashions are both futuristic and classic. About their show/film/presentation Golish’s FW ‘21 film is called “Both Directions at Once.” The inspiration for his collection is youth culture, and Waugh’s novel ‘Vile Bodies’ It was filmed in a beautiful building-- the architecture was very modern. The music was the 60s, 70s, it was funk/jazz, then it turned into more techno, ambient elements to the song. The models were walking and also they filmed the models posing and dancing in between the walking, which made it interesting and creative. A few trendy looks + their description Their FW '21 collection is very cool-looking. Look 1 One look I like is their long black dress with a black puffer coat and a very large leather bag. The dress had a low neckline, so the dressiness of the dress and urban casualness of the coat made this outfit look very high fashion. Look 2 I really love the oversized business suit look. Gollish designed a khaki-colored blazer that looked slightly oversized with shoulder pads and it has gold buttons. I really liked how he styled it with a turtleneck, biker shorts, and dressy shoes with white socks. Look 3 In the photo above, this look is one of my favorites. This Mr. Saturday FW '21 look is a futuristic-looking, relaxed, and luxurious look. It is a light green bomber puffer jacket paired with puffer pants. This is a great look, and trendy. Coach Photo courtesy: Coach Coach Intro Coach was founded in the 1940s. They were originally founded under the name Manhattan Leather Bags b Lillian and Miles Cahn. they are a fashion brand icon and a global leader in luxury handbags and accessories. Style/ aesthetic They have a classic and modern look. yet they also have a very trendy look and style. “They offer a cozy, indulgent silhouette” The collection is modern, urban, and edgy, and classic. About their show/film/presentation I really love the way they styled this collection. The clothes have a lot of personality and make the models artistic and creative. It is a fun and beautiful collection. The looks are realistic and down-to-earth. They made the models look realistic with their clothes. It starts off as a TV show called COACH. The film was very creative and they had the models outside modeling on the street, on a playground, in the woods, and they used funky props like rugs, potted plants, and a vacuum. A few trendy looks + their description Look 1 One menswear look I really enjoyed had a red sweater with a larges image or an ice cream Sunday. Paired with sweggings made from a light-brown sherpa fleece fabric. This look is really fashionable with their tartan collared shirt, blue gloves, and turquoise socks. Look 2 Another look that I love was a dress blouse, with a dressy skirt, both with prints. I loved the purple turtleneck underneath, and the sweggings. They were red fitted sweatpants, and yellow socks that were long enough to be scrunched. Look 3 In the photo above is one of my favorite looks from their menswear FW ‘21 collection. I love the vintage-inspired messenger bag, the knitted blue hat. The plaid-printed pants, the worn-in looking deer-printed fleece with a red turtleneck is a cozy and high fashion look. The second part will have 11 more collection reviews from NYFW-- the designers that showcased after the 22nd of February. I will also be doing a review on some of the London fashion week shows for next month, so stay tuned. NYFW TRENDS Each designer has their individual, unique trends that are a part of their collections. I will be talking about a few of my favorite outfits from each collection that I am sure will be very trendy for FALL '21. I think all brands have a few trends that they bring new to the industry. Many of the NYFW presentations listed below are co-ed shows; they showcased their menswear and womenswear collections together within the fashion show/film/presentation. In this NYFW review, I will showcase a photo of one look from each brand. The photo will be one of my favorite looks from each collection. I have linked the brand's name that is the title above the photo in the article to their site. Also, you can visit NYFW.com to see each of their presentations. Signing up is free, but you have to sign up to see the collections on their site. Many of the shows are also on youtube and the brand's websites too. The designer collections that I will be covering in part 1 + their Instagram account: @jasonwu @rvngcouture @maisonkitsune @aknvas @studioamelia @koh_t_official @bevza @tombogo @loringnewyork @oqliq @theo JASON WU Courtesy: Jason Wu Jason Wu is the designer for the ready-to-wear label Jason Wu. He merges classic, sportswear, and feminine elements into his work. He uses many Haute Couture sewing techniques. Many of his fine fashion fabrics are from the mills in France and Italy. So, some of his clothes have some Italian style and French style to his fashion looks. Jason Wu was the first designer to present at New York Fashion Week. Wu’s collection is modern, young, and fresh— he included many trendy details to his designs. He presented a fashion runway show. The fashion show theme was runway models walking through a busy market, in the city. Wu has some great FALL ‘21 pieces. A particular piece that I loved was his oversized, extra-long coat with color-blocking. The fabric on the front of the coat was black with white, black, red plaid on the back part of the coat. It is very urban. Wu also showcased many beautiful printed fabrics and fabric patterns throughout his collection. Many of the blouses and dresses were very classic yet modern. RVNG Photo credit: Volatile Online Rvng is a luxury fashion label. The event was presented as a fashion runway show. The collections are designed by Jordan Stewart: the ready-to-wear fashion designer. Rvng is a ready-to-wear designer of dresses and formal dresses. The collection had very glamorous, beautiful dresses that you could wear to a ballroom or formal event. She also designed several, fun, glam, glittering pantsuits. All of the garments in the collection are very glamorous with a Hollywood-style aesthetic. The pantsuits were very modern-looking. Another design in their collection is the pantsuits with bold-colored, silky fabric. What was fun about this runway show was the filmmakers got a birds-eye-view angle of the camera of the show. The camera was in the air facing down-- and the models would twirl the large dresses that had a lot of fabric. The fabric and dresses looked very beautiful when the runway models were twirling the dresses at this angle. MAISON KITSUNE Courtesy: Maison Kitsune The next collection I reviewed is by Maison Kitsune. The creative director is Yuni Ahn. Ahn's collection has a Paris meets Tokyo type of fashion style. In their fashion show film, they used large floating mirrors in different shapes. They had several vintage-inspired silhouettes and fabrics. They used elements of designs that were influenced by 70s rock, grunge, and sport. This combination of different themes gave a futuristic, modern feel to the collection. Due to their color palette, the fashion's were very energizing yet also grounding. Maison is the French word for 'house'-- Kitsune is the word for 'fox' in Japanese. Their fall ’21 collection is classic, preppy, modern, casual, and very stylish. Maison Kitsune has a music label, coffee shop, and fashion brand. They have merged them all. This is a very futuristic way for the fashion business industry. AKNVAS Photo credit: Kaltblut Magazine Here, I review the advanced, contemporary women's wear brand founded by Danish designer Christian Juul Nielsen: Aknvas. Aknvas is fun. They design menswear, womenswear, and unisex fashion designs. Their FALL ‘21 fashion show music was pop and electro. This was an inspiring collection-- they featured models wearing their designs of a cropped blue sweater and a cropped red sweater. These sweater looks were my two favorite pieces in the collection. They have many high fashion pieces with bold bright-colored fabrics. One of the accessory pieces they designed and showcased was a braided bag with bright blue and bright navy colors-- the braids were like the size of rope. They designed and styled a gorgeous plaid dress with a pink turtleneck underneath it. The plaid dress had a light brown and black color. The colors went well together. Aknvas has a futuristic style and vibe to their FALL ’21 collection. Their cuts are very structured, yet they also have a very flowing and comfortable-looking aesthetic. They had a beautiful, quilted, puffer coat in a very dark red color that was extra-long. It was styled with a bright pink sweater and with a pair of bright pink-colored pants. One of their menswear FALL ’21 looks is very stylish because they had the male model wear their very heavy-weight thick sweater design and a turtle neck, with a plaid suit jacket over the heavy sweater. The collection shared quite a few unisex pieces where a man and a woman could wear the same garment. They designed a fun dark-green and dark-red quilted puffed crop coat. The quilted puff coat is in green color and its design details on the hood and the detailed pieces on the cuff of the sleeve are red. The unisex pieces-- the two specific pieces I liked that were worn on a man and woman were a plaid trench coat and a bright blue crop sweater. Both of these pieces looked either feminine on the woman model and masculine on the male model. Their unisex garments create equality. STUDIO AMELIA Photo credit: Moda Operandi The next collection I'll be talking about is Studio Amelia. Studio Amelia is currently based in Sydney Australia. The founder and creative director is Emily Emilia Inglis. Studio Amelia's FW '21 collection is very feminine with long dresses and elegant designs that are very contemporary. The designer includes many tailored pieces-- suit jackets and pantsuits. The Studio Amelia FW '21 collection includes versatile pieces. They like to create and design looks that can be worn in a casual and dressy way. I enjoyed the Studio Amelia fashion show presentation. The fashion film included classical music. The film had nice lighting-- everything was in a dark shadow-- yet there was a light beam-- almost like a window of the sun streaming through on the posing fashion models and their looks. The fashion models made very slow, creative, dancing movements and rhythms in the film. The models were serious-looking so it was a very emotional video. The way that the models moved with the lighting moving around really made it a very beautiful fashion video. The collection has a beautiful neutral color palette with lots of long flowy dresses, beautiful dressy pantsuits, and stylish trench coats. One fashion look had a long, thin, black scarf tied around the woman's neck. The scarves are flowing in the air in the film. They used a lot of modern neutral colors like: black, khaki, and light grey. KoH T Photo Credit: ©KoH T, Photography by Takatsugu Kanda KoH T is a Japanese ready-to-wear luxury fashion brand by designer Taisuke Kohji. Kohji's designs are very modern, and contemporary. The designs include elements of athleisure, sportswear, style, and minimalism. What I like about his collection was that the clothing was very high fashion yet very casual and wearable. The KoH T Fall '21 collection has classic yet urban pieces. The designs have a Japanese influence as well as an American influence in the KoH T fashion designs. The fashion show had a beautiful ambiance, with electro fashion show music in the film. In their fashion show film-- the models were walking through a walkway that was very futuristic-looking. Then, towards the end of the show, all the models were walking down a hill in nature with grass all around. The music and their particular collection made the nature background look futuristic. It made the designs look futuristic as well. Taisuke's collection had a lot of modern neutrals. Many of the jackets had a lot of technical details that made the designs have a sleek minimalistic, yet complex feel. There is a classic yet urban look to KoH T menswear and womenswear collections. Both collections had a lot of masculine elements. There was one men's designer look where the model wore a long black dress design, yet it didn't look like a dress it was more of an extra-long tunic shirt that went down past the knees. The look was very masculine looking however in the long shirt/tunic-- very fashionable. There was one particular look-- a female model wore his blazer design with a belt over the blazer. Their white blouse was underneath the blazer in a stylish way, and the model had their black thin pant designs tucked into the boots. This is a great look. All the fashions in this collection are very cool. BEVZA Courtesy: Bevza The next collection I will be talking about is Bevza by fashion designer Svetlana Bevza. Bevza is a contemporary women's wear label established in 2006 in Ukraine. Her fashion collection is clean with minimal-like silhouettes. Bevza has a timeless elegance and she designs looks with fine fabrics. Their fashion designs have a nice cut and fit. They believe beauty is in simplicity. The BEZVA fall '21 collection is very beautiful. One of her accessory designs was a headband that made the women look a little bit like a goddess, yet also a little bit like a bohemian-styled person. They included a lot of feminine-looking pieces, yet they also include a masculine side with the structured pantsuits, for example. They have designed a beautiful faux fur coat in white color, but it also has a two-tone light grey color to it. The way the collection was presented and the way the fashion designs looked, there is a spiritual side to her label. The accessories-- gold-leaf earrings, and tall boots were worn with long coats and flowy skirts. She used fringe in the collection. The color palette was very neutral with a lot of modern black, khaki, white, and navy. I like the way she styles their beanie hat. The models wore a mid-weight hooded sweatshirt and then they put the mid-weight beanie over the hood. It looks very stylish. It is pictured in the photo above. One beautiful piece was a light-blue denim mesh fabric sweater with a v-neck collar. They designed a turtleneck with a darker navy blue color-- it looked stylish with their long skirt. Another beautiful element was their braided belts. You will see braids in different parts of the collection. The braided headband that was worn over the forehead gave off a Native American vibe and this may be an inspirational look to the collection. Another design was one long amber-colored dress with a very flowing silhouette-- long v-neck sweaters with turtlenecks. The turtleneck was made in a nice satin-like fabric. It looked great. There was one beautiful sweater dress and it included a hood and the hood had a bit of a neck piece that covered the neck in the front of the neck. Overall there's a very soothing aspect to the BEVZA FW '21 collection-- with pretty pastels, beautiful neutrals, a turquoise light-green color, and a beautiful khaki color. There's something spiritual to their silhouettes, so very modern, and futuristic. They look very comfortable and wearable as well as high fashion. TOMBOGO Courtesy: Tombogo The next collection I'll be reviewing is Tombogo. Tombogo is a ready-to-wear brand made and founded by Tommy Bogo. His label is called Tombogo. Tombogo is an experimental learning outlet" for designer Tommy Bogo. Tommy Bogo creates avant-garde designs and I believe his designs are partly inspired by the culture and the current events in the world. The soundtrack of Tombogo's fashion film was really beautiful. In one of the songs, it said a specific quote that I like: "I've been to New York, San Fran, and La just to find myself." I thought that was a very inspiring music quote. I have lived in NYC, San Francisco, and I currently live south of LA, but near LA, so the lyrics resonated with me and made me happy to hear them. In his fall '21 collection, the designer Bogo chose fashion models that look real and down-to-Earth. It is nice to see fashion designers that are showcasing growth, and spirituality, and uniqueness into their collection. Bogo's fashion film was inspiring because it showed realistic people with their personalities that shined through and became part of the look. So, the label paired certain fashion looks from their collection that would look well with the fashion model's personalities. It made the outfits more stylish, fashionable, and trendy. The collection has an urban/city vibe. In the film, an artist is spray painting on a large poster board in the back of the film. The label has branded paint, and he had the spray painter using the Tombogo paint to spray paint a large painting in the background. In front of this large painting, the fashion models were showing the looks while they were walking on a treadmill. The film is very interesting, emotional, and thought-provoking. The Tombogo fall '21 collection is very urban, modern, and fresh. Many of the looks are casual with lots of mid-weight fabrics, sweatshirts, and khaki pants. Tombogo designed a screen-printed sweatshirt with the mural that was behind the models, within the fashion film. One particular look I like-- the look was a puffed hat, with a nice light-brown/yellow cardigan sweater. For men-- there were more menswear looks than women's wear looks in the film, but the womenswear looks were very cool-looking and very strong. There is an interesting detail with the shoes and the hats. They had a little pocket to put things in as an accessory. There are a lot of abstract screen-print designs. He had a great color palette, it was a bit masculine and feminine, so it was a good balance. One featured look that was really nice was a sweater for men and for women that had a fabric design of the city, that included the large towering City buildings. LORING Photo credit: CFDA 360 The next collection I'm going to be reviewing is Loring. Loring is a luxury, New York-based womenswear label by Long Xu. There is elements of futuristic design/style in his collection, as well as an urban and sportswear look. The soundtrack of his collection is really beautiful. It sounded a little bit synth-wave and a little techno, and a little instrumental. The beginning of the collection for Loring was very pretty because the film started with dark lighting, and the lighting was centered on the model. It looks like the model was on a stage and it was completely black, and then the lighting eventually got brighter and brighter and brighter. One great dress had puffed sleeves on the top part of the arm sleeve. It was a fitted blouse shirt, and the blouse dress, with a flared bottom from the waist to the bottom of the skirt. Another design was a short, white, cotton t-shirt dress with pleats and a puffed-sleeve with black buttons and it had a beautiful cut. It looked really beautiful paired with a tall boot. One great accessory piece is their long, dangling, chain link earring. A stylish pantsuit design with wide-leg pants was worn with an oversized jacket. The fabric of the pantsuit is navy and white, with very large color-blocking stripes. One of Xu's signature looks was the pantsuit with wide-leg pants. He designs quite a bit of dressy, formal fashions that are really stylish, modern, fresh, and urban. The cuts of the design are both masculine and feminine, so it has a good balance. There is one particular look that I love. It was a black and white dress. It was paired with a very tall over-the-knee boot. The white dress had ruching in the center front of the dress all the way up to the turtleneck. The backside of the long dress was made with completely black-colored fabric, and on the front side of it, it was made with completely white-colored fabric. It had a nice a-line cut. Another beautiful piece in the Loring fall '21 collection was a satin-like purple pantsuit. The fabric color is pastel, lavender purple. A great accessory was a large chain link necklace with extra-large chain links. His pieces are elegant and feminine and incorporate some masculine elements also. So, there's a great balance to the brand. OQLIQ Photo credit: CFDA 360 This next collection I am reviewing is called oqLiq. by designers: Orbit Lin & Chi Houng. Their collection that was filmed and presented at NYFW is very futuristic. Lin and Houng chose to create a virtual fashion show film. The virtual models were up in space on some kind of planet. This made their beautiful collection even more interesting. The oqLiq '21 collection is slightly spiritual. Several of their silhouettes are loose, casual, a relaxed fit. There are some Japanese elements to the pieces. The colors are a neutral palette yet futuristic-looking colors of different shades of grey, and different shades of blue and black. The fashion film's techno song made the video even more modern. Digital/virtual models were up in space, spacewalking on a metal planet that was shaped like an infinity symbol. The virtual models were walking down some kind of 8-track wearing a cool-looking mask. The mask had three different colored lit light bulbs. The collection is very creative and very interesting. Because the virtual models were digital, the fabric in the film had an interesting texture, like a seaweed texture. They chose to carry many plant-based fabrics in their collection, which is nice. The digital models had some form of print on their skin. It was almost like they were from a type of ET race and planet, which made it fun. They designed several pieces with interesting details and interesting cuts. One design was a trendy coat with different-colored pockets in the center of the garment. One design was a vest with a hood in different colors, they included a lot of color blocking. They designed a beautiful almost robe-like men's shirt that went down to the floor like a robe with no front opening. They designed a beautiful long-sleeved shirt with a diagonal zipper pocket in the front. There are a lot of seam decorations and inserting. They like to design the seams as a part of the design to create a decorative design element. I like this collection. I love the multiple colors that were in one piece. They designed several garments with two to three colors within the fabric and/or design. The design is intelligent and the details of the design make you want to think. THEO Photo credit: WWD This next collection and the final collection I am reviewed for Part 1 is the FW '21 collection of Theo by Teo Dekan. Theo is a contemporary label. The brand is a very trendy, edgy, modern fashion brand. The Theo fashion show film was filmed in this beautiful wintry forest scene. The film had digital virtual snow falling around the fashion models as they were walking. The show included both menswear and womenswear collections shown together, and they called it a co-ed show. This seemed to be a trend this season. The collection included beautiful long business suiting jackets that go long past the knee. There was a long scarf accessory design, a polka dot printed scarf tied around the men's and women's necks as an accessory. It is a great look. A male model showcased a large clutch that looks like a business case, I like this. The Theo collection had a lot of nice neutrals paired with the polka dot accessory which gave it a nice accent color and interest to the look. The dresses were very beautiful. The silhouettes of the dresses were modern and fresh. The collection included both masculine and feminine looks to make many looks unisex and to incorporate both masculine and feminine elements into Decan's designs. One look I liked-- there was an a-line dress and it had sleeves that were tapered and a slit in the center back of the dress. It is really beautiful. The cut and design of the dress was a- line, it had a little bit of extra fabric in the back too. Another look he designed: the men's coat with a pink-red color, it was long. He designed a sweater dress--it looks both casual yet dressy. The cuts of the dresses were very structured yet elegant and feminine. Another look from the menswear collection was a bright-yellow knitted beanie hat and a t-shirt turtleneck sweater in bright yellow, with baggy denim, flared pants. They also had this knit turtleneck t-shirt sweater in a bright blue-- one of my favorite pieces. Dekan designed a business suit and jacket for men. It was extra long, and the business suit and jacket looked a bit like a coat that went past the knees. It is a great look. Both the male and female models wore the business suiting pants and jacket designs. The designs have a white stripe piping along the side of the arms and on the side of the pants. There was a stylish gray and purple trench coat worn by both men and women. It had a white stripe on the arms and looked very high fashion. Another piece that I like from the menswear collection was the bomber jacket it was in yellow with a black accent fabric. Final thoughts All of these designers and brands inspire me. NYFW and these brands, keep fashion alive. When I see the NYFW fashion collections, they always keep the dream of fashion alive for me. Great design is what makes ready-to-wear brands influential to fashion people, fashion professionals, and fashion consumers. Stay tuned for Part 2 of the NYFW fashion review series, where I will review 11 more of my favorite fashion collections from NYFW. Want to read more articles? Check them out here: HIGHLIGHTS

  • 5 Ready-To-Wear Brands That Produce Trendy Plant-Based Apparel

Trendy plant-based apparel In this article, I will be sharing 5 ready-to-wear brands that produce a large selection of trendy, healthy, plant-based apparel in their seasonal fashion collections. Additionally, I will also explain why plant-based fashion fabrics are the future of fashion and ready-to-wear. Plant-based fabrics are a part of the concept of fashion for health. When we wear plant-based fabrics we become part of the 'fashion for health' trend. Whether a RTW company uses plant-based fabric, synthetic-based fabric, or animal-based fabric, it is not always about the brand’s fabrics that make fashion consumers purchase their product. I am all about healthy fashion, but if I see a synthetic-based polyester garment that I like, I don’t care that the garment is made out of polyester. I will share it online, I will add it to my Pinterest boards for inspiration, and sometimes I will even buy it and wear it. Fashion is not just about fabrics, it is about design. However, when I see fashion news, fashion shows, fashion blogs, fashion events, and fashion businesses, I see a lot of polyester fabric. There is so much synthetic apparel on the runway, it is hard to find brands that use cotton and linen predominantly in their collections. So, that is why I am sharing with you 5 RTW brands that produce many plant-based garments, for inspiration. Plant-based fashion fabrics are trendy + healthy Plant-based fabrics are trending. Many ready-to-wear brands use organic GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified fabrics and plant-based fabrics. All fashion consumers, fashion professionals, and the entire fashion industry will eventually wear and produce more and more plant-based fabrics. This is because synthetic fabrics are made from petroleum oil, and petroleum oil is a non-renewable resource. Also, plants are healthier for the skin and body than most synthetic fabrics. I am not against non-plant fabric materials. I wear all plant, animal, and synthetic fabrics, but I choose to wear plant-based apparel predominantly. This is because I like plant-based fabrics the most, they feel the most comfortable on my body. I wear some polyester. Polyester coats and polyester jackets, for example. The synthetic garments I wear are ergonomic and loose and they don't stick to my skin. I wear synthetic apparel, most importantly, because I need to stay warm. However, I try to make sure, when I purchase synthetic fabrics they are comfortable to wear and ergonomically designed. Plant-based ready-to-wear brands inspire + influence the fashion industry When I see ready-to-wear fashion collections, they always keep the dream of fashion alive for me. RTW is a part of the inspiration for my wardrobe and my fashion business, because RTW fashion is high fashion. RTW brands have a great sense of style and a great sense of culture. Their collections are highly creative. The designers of RTW brands are the masterminds at design. They are the fashion visionaries that keep fashion powerful. Great design is what makes ready-to-wear brands influential to fashion people, fashion professionals, and fashion consumers. Ready-to-wear brands are a part of the major global fashion weeks. Part of the reason why people get so inspired and influenced by RTW is because of the fashion shows-- the fashion show themes, runway music, fashion models, hair, makeup, the lighting, the catwalk, and most importantly-- the fashions. Runway, ready-to-wear brands are so exciting and inspiring-- the fast fashion, contemporary, high street, and economy market levels of the fashion industry are influenced by them. When more and more RTW brands design and produce plant-based apparel made with cotton and linen, more of the economy brands, fast-fashion retailers, and contemporary brands will be influenced by them and will produce more plant-based apparel. What makes RTW brands the most inspiring, for me personally, is when I see a designer garment made from cotton, linen, bamboo, ramie, or other plant-based fabrics. A fashion design is even more advanced, and futuristic when synthetic materials are not used in the design, and plant-based materials are used. For example, the automobile industry has advanced its vehicles. Take the hybrid vehicles that use part electricity, vs. the regular vehicles that use 100% gasoline. Hybrid vehicles are more advanced and futuristic and this is because they use less toxic gasoline. When I see a vinyl fabric dress on the runway, I always wish that toxic vinyl fabric was made from bioplastic-- a plant-based synthetic fabric material, and not made from petroleum oil. 5 RTW brands + their trendy look Ready-to-wear is conscious fashion because it is not fast fashion. Their garments are made to last a long time. There are thousands of innovative, conscious, ready-to-wear brands producing plant-based apparel, but I chose 5 brands that are both high fashion and trendy. The RTW brands featured below have an evolved style aesthetic that caters to fashion subcultures, that are also part of the global fashion trends. These RTW brands keep up with the trends from all over the world. I have included a photo of a trendy outfit from their current fashion editorial campaign, and a little information about the RTW brand’s style aesthetic. 1. BURBERRY Photo Source: Burberry Burberry is a British luxury fashion house headquartered in London, England. They state that cotton is one of their most-used raw materials in their collections. Featured garment: Contrast Check Stretch Cotton Tie-waist Shirt Dress The Burberry look I selected is a dress made with 100% cotton stretch fabric. Their check fabric is one of their signature fabrics. This Burberry dress is clean, minimal, and classic. The fabric print makes it modern, sporty, and a little dressy. 2. JW ANDERSON Photo Source: JW Anderson JW Anderson is a British fashion label founded by Jonathan Anderson. He sells internationally like the other RTW brands I am featuring in this article. Featured garment: A-line Trench Coat This featured garment is JW Anderson’s a-line trench coat made in 100% cotton fabric. This coat is a beautiful, refined, and sleek piece. The A-line silhouette makes it feminine, sophisticated, and lady-like. 3. LEE MATTHEWS Photo source: Lee Matthews Lee Matthews ready-to-wear brand is founded and designed by Lee Matthews. She is an Australian fashion designer and produces her collections in Australia. Featured garment: Anika Puff Mini dress This chic + modern Anika cotton dress is made in 100% cotton fabric. Their puff mini dress is slightly bohemian, yet it also has classic and sporty details to the look. I love this dress. It looks comfortable to wear. 3. ROSIE ASSOULIN Photo source: Rosie Assoulin Rosie Assoulin is a luxury womenswear label made and based in NYC. Featured garment: Layered Trench Day Dress I love their layered trench day dress. This dress has a great cut with a clean, fresh, contemporary look. This dress has a perfect length. This look worn with boots and leggings would look nice, also. 5. RACHEL ANTONOFF Photo source: Rachel Antonoff Rachel Antonoff is a New York City-based designer. Her brand is modern, elegant, and edgy. Featured garment: THOM Jean 100% cotton twill I love their cotton twill jeans with their tabloid print. They are bold, edgy, and modern. What is so great about cotton twill fabric: it is a good mid-weight fabric for all seasons. All of these 5 ready-to-wear brands: Burberry, JW Anderson, Lee Matthews, Rachel Antonoff, and Rosie Assoulin inspire me. It is exciting to look on their site and view their past and recent collections, and see that they support the plant-based textile industry, and they design and produce so much plant-based apparel. Watching the shows and collections of inspiring ready-to-wear brands that are not only supporting the Earth, but also supporting human health by producing plant-based apparel will help us, and inspire us. It is challenging to find RTW brands that produce fashion made predominantly with plant-based fashion fabrics. Not every type of garment can be made in 100% plant-based fabric at this point, it will take some time for the fashion industry to produce more plant-based apparel. The fashion industry is currently in transition. Want to read more articles? Check them out here: HIGHLIGHTS

  • How Archiving Your Fashion Modernizes, Revitalizes, and Transforms the Fashion Industry

Modernize + Revitalize + Transform In this article, I will not be talking about fashion archiving as textile preservation and/or storage of clothing. I am speaking about archiving your fashions, your fashion experiences, your styled outfits in fashion journals, or in a fashion planner. Archiving outfits in our wardrobe is important. We don't need to only track and remember the fashion outfits photographed in editorial fashion magazines or the collections of the runway. We can look in our own closets and remember our own styled, fashion outfits, in order to revitalize the fashion industry. A few ways to archive your fashion fashion apps taking photos and creating albums + galleries writing the outfits down in fashion planners my fashion journal tracker (you can add it to your planner) Specific ways fashion archiving modernizes, revitalizes, and transforms the fashion industry: The fashion industry will advance and become better when we observe and reflect on our wardrobe and styled outfits. Archiving fashion outfits is a good part of fashion researching. When we reflect on our wardrobes we can learn more about fashion, and this will also change the fashion industry. Archiving our outfits creates more control and management over our clothes and lifestyle. It will create more connection with our clothing, and it also triggers positive memories emotions, like when we had a good day because we were wearing a specific outfit. Fashion archiving supports self-esteem and confidence, when we are able to track our outfits, we can remember our positive fashion days. Our own wardrobes and the outfits we wear or wore are archetypal, they serve as a purpose to guide our lives and guide the fashion industry archetypically. Our wardrobes contain iconic fashion pieces that we need to remember. When we archive our fashions we become fashion journalists. "Fashion planners, fashion apps, and digital fashion programs allow us to track our own fashions, fashion experiences, and fashion memories." The famous fashion photographer Bill Cunningham was a fashion archiver Photo: WWD Bill Cunningham, the famous, deceased fashion journalist + fashion/street photographer archived fashion. As a fashion photographer, he left behind a photo archive worth 1 million dollars. Bill Cunningham, was an NYC Couture milliner, a famous fashion/street photographer, and fashion journalist who know the significance of documenting outfits. He spent 5 decades documenting fashion. He wrote for CHICAGO TRIBUNE, and WOMENS WEAR DAILY, and photographed street fashion for the NY TIMES, from 1978-2016. He photographed a lot of famous people, but he also photographed a lot of people on the streets of NYC that were not famous at all. This is partly why archiving our own fashion outfits is important. Because it is not just what is on the runway or in the fashion magazines that is what is important. Bill Cunningham said: "One of the things about high fashion is that it attracts the most ambitious social climbers: show-offs, snobs, bigots, and egoists. These women consider themselves as social- I think of them as miles of phony society fringe." I agree with Mr. Cunningham. He cared about street fashion, he cared about archiving outfits, and he never cared for a specific class of people. I personally like high fashion for high fashion, it's sheer inspiration. I don't particularly care for the classes of hierarchy involved, however, but I guess the wealthy are keeping RTW and haute couture alive to a degree. Fashion can be named frivolous when big money dress houses cater to the market for high society. Frivolous fashion does not represent the point of distributing designer craft for the sake of creativity but does when adhering to the prestige of the elite. Archiving one of my favorite garments A lot of times when we look at what fashion is we may believe that it is not a fashion experience, but, when we dress in our clothing as a daily ritual, it is, actually. We are actually experiencing a fashion experience. I will explain to you one clothing item that was creating a type of experience for my life, and it was a part of creating my life, and as part of my lifestyle. One of my favorite clothing items was a pair of white bamboo knit jersey leggings. They would actually be considered thermal pants. You can wear them under a pair of pants. These bamboo leggings were so comfortable I truly felt like I could relax more when I wore them. "Archiving our fashion outfits is an important part of reflecting on fashion in a way to evaluate current fashion and past fashion." When I wore them and put them on-- because they were like long john's I ended up wearing them to bed. They were the perfect pants to wear to bed because they were so soft against my skin. Also, the bamboo fabric of the leggings had great movement and stretch to the fabric. The fabric wouldn't tug or pull. When I moved around the fabric would easily move with my movements. There are different ways of valuing apparel and one way is to wear them out to the point where they can no longer be worn. I wore these leggings for many years until the fabric started to disintegrate from the dryer. This fashion piece is important to me, and I am still looking for a replacement. Because I have archived the garment, by writing it down I am able to refer to them for fashion reference. I can also make sure to replace them when I want to.
